Sri lanka is an island located in Indian Ocean, which is 65610 square kilometers in size. Sri Lanka which has over 2500 years of written history has been called by various names by different nationals.

Arabs called as "Serendib", Ceilão was the name given to by the Portuguese, Ceylon by English and Thaprobane by Greeks (Ptolemy's Map). There are few other names while these are the widely used names.

Sri Lanka is a multi cultured and multi religious country which has over 20 million population. Sri Lanka suffered a 20 year ethnic war which was ended in May 2009 after defeating the LTTE rebels by the government.

Sri Lanka is an enchanted tropical island with golden sand beaches, elephants, waterfalls, virgin forests and many more places to visit. It is one of the best places where you can spent your hard earned holidays.
